Dressing the Scene
May 29th, 2012
We started out this gorgeous Memorial Day weekend by going to see Men in Black 3 on Friday Night. We usually try not to go on an Opening night because of crowds, but honestly, I could not wait! We both wanted to see the dress I created for the film in action, especially after seeing so many great photos of it on the web.
We rush to get there a little early so we can get seats together- Lobby is oddly quite. We decide to go for the full experience and go 3D. Our jaws hit the ground- ask about regular price & hit it again. Went for 3D since it was not a lot of difference. (Is $17.50 a ticket normal? Is $15.50? My bro, based in Malibu gasped, so I guess not. Must have been longer than we thought since we’ve been to the movies!)
We get to the specified screen, and wonder if we’re in the right place. There were literally 5 people sitting there. By the time Men in Black 3 started there were maybe 12 people in the theater.
It was like a private showing! Which was kinda great (we pulled out our cameras -in our excitement we forgot we were watching in 3D!) but kinda odd – you miss all the shared reactions. But a real pleasant novelty in NYC!
Our leather lily dress was so prominently (& fabulously) featured on Nicole. Opening shot! In fact the whole Opening scene! Great Statement & screen time! Plus, Men in Black 3 was so much better than any third installment we can think of, and as always the monsters and effects were a blast- very pleasantly surprised!
Recommended Fun!
